What time commitment does the Leadership Institute entail?

The Leadership Institute is a major 10-month commitment (February-November) and includes attendance at three live meetings as follows: a dedicated 2-day training event in Chicago in February or March 2025 (covered by Women's Council), the National Midyear Meeting in June 2025 in Washington DC (at student's expense), and the National Conference in November 2025 in Houston, TX (at student's expense).  Other meetings will be held via telephone or Zoom in between the meetings. Leadership Institute participants must commit to attending all three meetings and all virtual meetings.

Attendance at all sessions is necessary to graduate. Participants who have an unexcused absence for more than one session will be dropped from the program and encouraged to reapply. Selection for subsequent year’s programs cannot be guaranteed. Please consider this time and travel commitment before applying.

What costs are entailed for the Leadership Institute? What is covered and what is not?

For the Class of 2025, the $595 application/participation fee is due by December 1, 2024, and covers the program's tuition cost. Women’s Council fully covers the February/March training (air, hotel, meals). The Midyear and National Conference registration, hotel and all travel expenses are at the participant’s expense. The application process will open on June 3 and close on July 15, 2024.
